Do not focus all your pricing efforts on the lowest price clubs but check out some of the more recognizable brands as well. Then go and check out sporting good consignment shops (if you have any in your community—there are some that are dedicated to golf in larger cities) as well as online auction websites.

It is quite possible to get a great set of clubs in one of these places that has been barely used for a fraction of what you would pay at retail prices. There are occasions when you can purchase a really nice set of clubs for less than you would pay for a cheap set of clubs at a discount retail or sporting goods store.
