Improve Your Handicap By Improving Your Golf Swing

Published by Phil Mcgrath under Golf

Improving your golf swing is not just about how hard you are swinging the club and how far the ball went. You may be able to swing your club so hard and drive the ball a long shot but the direction is going to the woods, it is still not a great swing. Or you may have a good swing but the ball is going out in a curve and you cannot straighten it out or it may be that you cannot drive the ball down the fairway as far away as possible.

We will be giving you quick tips on how to improve your golf swing. Adding that distance to your shots means less par and a better game, isn't this what every golfer aims at? Also, it is not about muscle power to get the ball down the fairway, the game is more of finesse. Further, in order to master the game of golf, you must learn how to swing well and consistently.

You can learn to do this simply by concentrating on the proper grip and posture, your backswing, your downswing, tempo and your handling of the golf club handle are the key areas of the technique in golfing.

If you experience a slice and hook or hitting behind the ball or hitting the top of ball then you need to develop some more your posture and set-up. You must maintain a straight back and spine while your chest is out and bend over the hips until your club touches the ground. Always remember, this is how your set-up should be and as you get down, use only your hips.

When swinging your golf club, always keep a good sense of balance and a smooth rhythm, because if you rush your swing tendency is you will lose your balance, contact of your club face to the ball is unpredictable and it will diminish the flight of the ball. Also, have your right foot up and able to tap the ground as you finish your follow through and transfer of weight.

Remember to practice, especially your set-up and swing. You can do this in driving ranges. When you finish your swing focus your body in facing your target when you make your follow through. Keep a slower speed during your back swing rather than your forward swing, practice this always.
