How to Hit the Golf Ball Long and Straight

Start off slowly by performing exercises on the core of your body and then focus on the smaller muscles. Also, improving your cardiovascular fitness will make your golf swing smoother and easier to replicate.
Make sure that your set-up at the golf ball is correct. If you are not aligned correctly, you will not hit the ball straight. Envision your body just flowing through the golf ball instead of trying to hit down on the golf ball.
A great swing tip to try is to picture your body hitting behind the ball and pushing it forward. Ninety percent of golfers believe that they have to imagine the ball flying into the air; this is just not necessary. Furthermore, at the top portion of your back swing, attempt to have eighty percent of your body weight over your back foot.
At the point in your shot when you are about to start your downswing, ensure that the storage of energy is still there and that it not leaning over the side of your back foot. The way to do this is to bend your back elbow towards the core of your body while starting your downswing. Then, at the end of the downswing, let your body's weight switch to your left foot if you are a right-handed golfer.
A great way to align your body correctly for a golf shot is to imagine a railroad track between yourself and your target area. Try to concentrate keeping your body within the train tracks during the swing. This golf drill will make sure that you remain focused on where to aim your shot properly.
